We do not know how you guys often do, but when we’re looking for a new type of woodworking tools, we always start from the most famous brands. For instance, the well-known Dewalt!
In case you have not known this, Dewalt has a lot of woodworking tools, saws, and table saws included. These tools come in different designs, different price ranges, and serve different user purposes.
The Dewalt DWE7485 Compact Table Saw is the newest product that Dewalt has improved from the previous version – DWE7480.
The first thing you will see in this DWE7485 is its compact, boxy design, which is super portable and easy to store. The motor power is powerful enough for general woodworking project – a 15 amps and 5800 rpm.
This little beast comes with an adjustable fence – not an unlimited one. You can read our buyer’s guide right below for why you should not take a table saw with no fence limit. Dewalt DWE7485’s fence can open up to 24.5 inches, large enough for most plywood and workpieces of your home project.
Moreover, the DWE7485 manufacturer provides a lot of useful accessories besides the slideway fence: the anti-kickback pawls, miter gauge, push stick, modular guard system, and so on! All of them have onboard storage for easy access and storing!
To compare with the previous version, DWE7480, this DWE7485 has a slightly smaller blade. It means that this DWE7485 will have higher RPM, but also means a lower depth of cut! Next time you want to buy a Dewalt DWE7485, make sure that your project will not need any thick workpiece!
- High-quality table saw with many safety features
- Compact, lightweight, easy to transport, and store
- Smooth and accurate cuts thanks to the strong motor
- Easy to set up on uneven surface adjustments
- Simple fence alignment
- Convenient onboard storage
- Odd-size blades
Bosch GTS1031 10-Inch Portable Table Saw – Best Versatile Cutting Tools for All Projects
- Regular size blade for easy replacing
- One-handed carry handle for easy portability
- Comes with many safety accessories for extra protection
- Solid all-steel base tabletop saw that can last for years
If you have once used a saw with a smaller-than-common blade, you will understand how it feels when your blade is too small to cut through the piece you choose. Then you have to switch to another piece, just to fit that blade size. Terrible!
Finding a table saw with a larger blade with equal quality and performance as the Dewalt DWE7485 is not easy. Lucky for you, Bosch does provide you with one – the Bosch GTS1031 10-inch table saw!
The Bosch GTS1031 is indeed a solid performer and the worthy rival of Dewalt. To talk about significant features that have brought the Bosch GTS1031 to its height today, we cannot skip its sturdy all-steel base. This base is strong enough to help this Bosch take on the toughest job and stay with us through all our home projects.
Besides, this little guy also offers excellent accuracy thanks to its square lock rip fence, which is capable of self-aligning design and provides extra consistency when you glide. There are also additional safety features like the riving knife system and anti-kickback pawls to control the saw better!
But what does this Bosch GTS1031 use to trade for a larger blade?
Let me tell you:
That is the rip capacity! You will only have an area of 18-inch large free space to place your workpiece. Although its depth and power are unrivaled, this Bosch table saw would not satisfy the top project ideas in our heads.
But to make up for that, the 10-inch 24-tooth carbide tip blade with 5.000 no-load speed can do you a massive range of job site applications! It is a super versatile tool!
- Well-made, easy to set up and use job-site saw
- Powerful motor to rip through wood
- Built-in storage
- Durable all-steel base
- Really small rip capacity – only 18 inches!
TACKLIFE MTS01A 10-Inch Table Saw – Best Tabletop Saw for Bevel Cuts
- Adjustable table stand for optimum height
- Bevel cutting from 0 to 45 degrees for multiple cutting patterns
- 24T carbide-tipped blade to rip through all material
- Convenient design with built-in storage
- Many safety and additional features: miter gauge, Allen wrench, push stick, and transparent blade guard
Some of our friends prefer buying a wood ripper that comes with useful bevel features. They recommend this TACKLIFE MTS01A, “If you are looking for an affordable option, this TACKLIFE will do best because of their bevel-focus features,” – they said.
As we come to the store to touch and see with our bare eyes how well this TACKLIFE can perform, not gonna lie, we were surprised!
This guy has a general motor of 15A 2000W, made of pure copper, capable of performing 4800RPM cutting power. The motor gives the ten inches bladed the ability to rip through many different materials, from plywood to hardwood!
The most impressive feature that we want to say here is its bevel tilt angle handle. It allows us to perform left bevel cutting from 0 to 45 degrees with a maximum depth of 2 inches at 45 degrees and a bit more at 90 degrees. The 24T carbide-tipped blade works pretty amazingly. It rips through the wood just knife through butter!
One thing we dislike about this MTS01A is that it’s an Aluminum tabletop. It is not durable at all! But you got covered by TACKLIFE’s 2-year warranty if anything wrong happens to your table saw.
- The strong copper motor of up to 4800RPM
- Regular-size sharp carbide-tipped blade
- Convenient storage
- Bevel cutting from 0 to 45 degree
- Super small rip capacity – only 16 inches!
- Aluminum material is not very durable
DEWALT DW745 10-Inch Table Saw – Best Portable Table Saw Option for Job-site Work
- Capable of performing bevel cuts to 45 degrees
- Durable and sturdy steel roll cage help your table saw last for years after purchasing
- Reliable precision and accuracy
- Super strong 1850 Watt motor that can perform up to 3,850 RPM cutting
- Features Dewalt Site-pro Guarding System for easy guarding component adjustment
The DEWALT DW745 is a more dynamic and pricey option than the first DEWALT DWE7485 above. Although the DW745 is only about ¾ as large as DWE7485, it has all of the best features of the manufacturer DEWALT!
For anyone who hopes that their woodworking tools can last for years with them, this steel roll cage saw can withstand different impacts, thus, last a lifetime! The rack and pinion fence is pretty similar to the DWE7485, also works to keep the fence adjustment straight and clear, thus providing us with the fastest and smoothest cuts.
On talking about power, the 1850 Watt motor would not let you down with its high-performance applications! The maximum rip on the saw table is impressive, too – as expected in a product from DEWALT! On the left side, it is a 12 inches rip, and on the right is 20 inches.
Considering that superior power and how little space that this beast takes, we can say pretty firmly that this DEWALT DW745 is one of the best portable tables saw for any job-site project!
- Pretty large rip capacity
- Light, small, and compact enough to carry around
- Offer 45 degrees bevel cuts
- Consistent performance
- More expensive than most table saws on the market of the same range
Delta Power Tools 36-6010 10-inch Table Saw – Best Mid-range Table Saw for Large Project
- Capable of performing dado cuts
- Made of completely 100% meta
- Anti-friction Aluminum tabletop with sturdy tubular frame for excellent support and steadiness
- Standard tool-free split guard and anti-kickback pawls for the riving knife
- Blade retracts right under the table for easy cleaning
In case the 24 inches rip capacity of the DeWalt is still not large enough for your material, you will probably need a saw with larger rip capacity. You’d better not choose an unlimited-rip saw because it might result in terrible wavy-cut if you’re an amateur.
The Delta Power Tools 36-6010 table saw is produced with a super large rip capacity – of 30 inches!
However, some people say that this Delta’s fence is pretty sloppy even when locked in and not doing its job. We decided to try it and find out that this fence is undoubtedly not as secure as DeWalt’s. But it works completely fine for regular cutting, so you only need to keep in mind that this is not the guy for the heavy-duty job!
This guy rips through wood like a beast thanks to its 5000 RPM. But again, be careful of the unlocked fence! Fast speed is fine; nevertheless, it could lead to inaccurate cuts if your workpiece is not secured properly.
When you get used to this Delta 36-6010’s cutting pattern, you will find great satisfaction in its superior features.
For example, its maximum depth of cut is bigger than most saws of the same range – 3½ inches at 90 degrees and one inch shorter at 45 degrees! It also comes with the dado stack for you to perform dado cuts. That is why this guy is the perfect saw if you are carrying a large woodworking project!
- Easy to carry around
- Includes dado stack
- A large rip capacity of 30 inches
- Robust 5000 RPM motor
- Able to perform deep cut of up to 3½ inches
- Less accuracy
- Poor table extension
Rockwell RK7323 BladeRunner X2 Tabletop Saw – Best Lightweight Table Saw for Basic Project
- Lightweight and compact piece with tabletop handle for easy carrying to the worksite
- Toolless blade changes to save time and effort
- Motor no-load speed of 3,000 RPM

For carpenter beginners, costly options like the four guys above is not a reasonable choice. You can look at products of lower ranges, such as the little ones that serve basic woodworking needs, like this Rockwell RK7323 BladeRunner X2!
This mini size guy’s price is only half of the other full-size tabletop saws. From long ago, Rockwell has been famous for its tools innovation by combining different features into one unit then size it down. This results in a ripping tool with extra power while still handling various types of work.
This RK7323 BladeRunner X2 is the topmost product of Rockwell for that reason. Combining all the benefits becomes an appealing option to anyone who’s just come to woodworking.
One downside of this piece is that its blade is too small. So that to compared with a big project, this tool looks like a toy (of course, a dangerous toy) that can barely cut through any thick material!
- Portable and lightweight
- Simple to use for even the most basic wood project
- A versatile piece that can cut through a lot of material
- Can perform a variety of cuts
- Little saw with a little blade can only be used for small projects
What to Look for When Choosing a Table Saw Under 300$
Most of you guys who are currently looking for a good budget table saw are woodworking beginners. You often do not have much experience in choosing a well-built and powerful tool. Not to mention, these tools come in so many different specifications and features to confuse you!
That is why we decided that we will have a quick buying guide to help newcomers, like you, with features of a great table saw that you should seek.
There’s not much, so you had better jot the main ideas down, maybe on your phone for the next time purchasing a table saw!

One of the best benefits of a table saw which many carpenters love is its adjustable fence size. That feature is the first thing you should take advantage of and pay certain attention to when choosing a wood ripper!
With the help of an adjustable fence, you will be able to cut your workpieces at the same length for as many times as you want. There should be no crappy troubles like inaccurate measurement or unidentical replica!
A table saw without a fence, or unlimited rip space would leave you end up with no way to align your wood. The result of this could probably be some slanting lines or even awful curved cuts!
The solid fence will ensure that your board can run smooth and straight. However, it also means that you are now restricted to perform cuts shorter than your table!
That is why we told you to pay close attention to the rip capacity above. Usually, it’s best to look for a budget table saw with the maximum rip of 24 inches or over. Some table saw with 14, or 16-inch max rip is fine, but not large enough for carpentry generally.
Motor Power & Control
What do you think people use to measure saw’s power?
Yes, it is simply Volts and Amps! Higher Volts and Amps, of course, means that your saw is more likely to be a beast on the job site.
The speed of your table saw is decided by the motor’s rating power. A higher motor rating says that this table saw can spin much faster with much higher RPMs, which results in more powerful cuts.
What more could a powerful motor benefit you?
It is cutting control. A robust motor will allow you to rip through sturdy materials like a knife through butter. Once you could manipulate it, you would be able to use bigger blades with ease to perform an accurate and precise cut.
A small tip here: A powerful saw will also help us avoid fatigue when working all day long!
Cutting Depth & Bevel
In general, the blade’s size will determine how deep your cut could go into the workpiece. A standard table saw should have a blade of 10 inches diameter. There are many saw options with this blade size, so you would easily find an inexpensive and good-quality one.
On the market, of course, there are other saws blades sizes as well. They work great if they suit your project’s needs and material. Yet their odd measurement might leave you with much fewer options when you want to replace the blades!
If you want to test the saw’s cutting depth and capacity, we recommend you try it directly. Firstly, you should test the vertical cutting, not the bevel cuts. Now you will be able to determine how smooth and accurate the saw can deliver at 0-degree cutting.
For bevel cutting, you’d better check if the base plate is adjustable – it could be 45, 70, or 90 degrees. There might be some more additional features to help you cut close to the wall’s edge.
Safety Features & Accessories
The first and also the most important safety feature that you should get for your saw is a blade guard. Regularly, a table saw will have a blade guard or blade cover with it upon purchase. They are super useful to help you avoid losing one finger by keeping them off the spinning blades!
Many carpenters used to refuse to use the blade guard, “because it blocks my sight,” – they said. Having a straight line of sight right to the blade is essential for easy and secure cutting. But recently, saws manufacturers have made significant design improvements so that blade cover could become clearer and more flexible.
Another potential cutting accident is kickback, which happens when a piece of material gets expelled at high speed toward the operator. To prevent this, some manufacturers have attached their products with a splitter or anti-kickback pawls to protect us from the flying wood.
Unlike mounted saws, which can have a separate fan to remove wood debris, table saws will need a built-in dust extraction tool to sawdust from the saw.
Design and Portability
Although most carpenter saws are supposed to stay at a fixed place for the rest of their life, table saws serves a different purpose. They are created for easy transporting from place to place as a more portable and dynamic solution.
Design is also a problem. As we already said, table saws often come with some accessories to help with difficult patterns or remove cutting struggles.
All those accessories need places to store. Smart manufacturers would give you onboard storage so that traveling will no longer be a burden!
However, not all table saws are super lightweight and easy to carry around. In fact, not many carpenters prioritize portability over other aspects like accuracy or versatility, and we find that entirely reasonable!
But we still recommend you find a portable option that fits the back of your car. Since they have carrying handle and standing legs, these tabletop saws can stand on any surface and do their jobs pretty effortlessly!
To sum up, the DeWalt’s table saws have proved that they are the most worthy tools to take the crown! Especially the DeWalt DWE7485, it is the must-have choice that you should take if you could not find the saw that you love.
And remember, even after purchasing a saw, you will always have time to test and see if you like it or not! Just make sure that you are following the safety instructions!
